Welcome to the home page for the Chalice Theatre production of Once Upon a Mattress.
Written during the Golden Age of American musicals, Once Upon A Mattress is a humorous take on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale The Princess and the Pea. The show’s popularity has endured through generations, even enjoying a revival on Broadway in 2024. Using a Drag Queen Story Hour as our setting, this production will highlight the storybook charm of the show and its message that, in fairy tales at least, anyone can be a princess. Tickets are $25 and are general admission. With only 10 shows, we often sell out quickly, so buy your tickets soon!
Chalice Theatre is a multi-generational program and is part of the arts ministry at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Arlington. All performances are at the church at 4444 Arlington Blvd – the parking entrance is from S George Mason Drive.
