{short description of image}

The RE curricula follow a simple path, encouraging students to question and discover:

In preschool-

  • Who am I? What is my community? my family?
  • What is the environment around us?

In first through third grade-

  • What is religion? Unitarian Universalism?
  • What are values that are important to me?
  • What are the religious values of others?
  • What is the role of celebration?

In fourth though seventh grade-

What is my Judeo-Christian heritage?

  • What role do Buddism, Hinduism, and other faiths play in my life?
  • Why were Jesus and other prophets important peeple?
  • What other important persons populate my religious history?
  • What religions are practiced in, and out, of my community?
  • What is my image of God and the role of church?

In middle- and high-school-

  • What role can religion play in my life?
  • Do I want to be a Unitarian Universalist?
  • How do I want to participate in my community?
  • How do I want to conduct myself as an adult?

Please keep in mind that, within each RE class, discussions are open to all ideas and viewpoints, every effort is made to incorporate knowledge from different religious traditions, and no one is required to profess any particular set of beliefs to participate. In addition, each curriculum includes hands‑on social action projects, along with other activities, that demonstrate the importance of giving to the broader community. Most importantly, the RE program is open to any and all suggestions, so if you have any ideas or concerns, please feel free to talk with your children's teachers or the MRE!
